A Little Introduction…. Goddesses of the Wild
“A little introduction” is our way to put members of the little makers market family in the spotlight. To allow them to shine and talk about their products and processes, likes, dislikes and to capture a glimpse of their personality, which unless you’ve met them at a market you would be unaware of.
So with our second blog of the series, it only makes sense to introduce you to the ray of sunshine that is Sofie from ‘Goddesses Of The Wild’. Sofie or ‘Fi’ is a new member of our little creative family, and we cannot wait to have her on board. Her free spirit, positive energy and spiritual outlook on life are all qualities that we should take note of sometimes. Read more below, to add a pop of ‘positive vibes only’ energy to your day.
Tell us about yourself
Hey - I am Fi and I am the creator of Goddesses of the Wild.
I shift between being a forest fairy, mermaid and divine feminine goddess. I am an artist and spiritual being on a mission to help us all connect more to our wild side.
How do you do it?
Be curious and willing to learn. My aim is to help humans embody their WILD so I have to stay intrigued to how that looks for me before I can help others do the same. With my artwork, I am currently intrigued by oil paints, wood burning, and adding glitter to EVERYTHING. I am heavily inspired by astrology, pagan festivals, Lilith and the female form as the basis for my heArt. I went to the Boscastle Museum of Witchcraft and Magic last year and this really evolved my practice!
Describe your business in 3 words?
Free-spirited, Calming, Playful
Where did it all begin? Why did you start your business?
Goddesses of the Wild evolved from dreaming up a new way of living! It was like she came knocking one day to say, ‘oh hey, this is what you should dedicate your life too!’ So I listened, adventured with her and created a platform which encompassed so many different aspects of my work. I wanted to create a space with a mission at its core (re-wilding) instead of being solely about my artwork or women circles, etc. So what started as a few illustrations to advertise my online healing gatherings and a few art prints depicting scenes in which I longed to live in I created a home!
What’s your biggest achievement?
Co-hosting my first retreat back in 2021, I am so proud of my friend and I for creating such a magical space.
What’s your goal/dream?
I truly see life on Earth as a beautiful gift and I want to love, serve and learn from the world and help others do the same.
What’s next for you & your business?
Hopefully, some more art & movement workshops, creating more birth chart paintings, retreats and I have a cool project in the pipeline looking at deepening human connection. Also working out how to add even more glitter into everything I do.
If you could time travel, where would you go & why?
Back through my ancestors when they were attending their moon lodge for women’s circles and living in a community. I would like to sit and witness the beauty of community in the way I am trying to carve out for myself now.
Favourite place?
Cornwall - I used to live there and it is still very much my heart home.
If you could be an animal what would you be, and why?
Jellyfish - I love the idea of just existing…
What’re your most listened-to songs, podcast or audiobook?
I switch up what I am listening to all the time - I grew up painting in my aunties kitchen with a famous five tape on in the background so podcasts tend to be my route!
If I am looking for inspiration:
Under the Stars with Foxey - I am lucky enough to know this human and worked with her to design the logo, but I kid you not I learn so much with each and every word she says.
Saturn Returns with Caggie - Great guests and great subjects
Wanting a laugh:
Shagged Married Annoyed with Chris and Rosie Ramsey - F**king brilliant
Music:
MIYA THE SUN - my friend is in this band and it warms my heart listening to her sing in their funky tracks :)
What’s your workspace/studio like?
I am going to say wild, but most would probably say messy…
I tend to be working on three things at once, so I expect paintings to be on top of jars/books and palettes cluttering up the window sill.
I am fortunate enough that my parents let me take over a room in their house for my studio and whilst it is a bit of a squeeze I am so grateful that me and my creative ideas have a place to be.
What’s your life philosophy? A piece of advice you would pass on?
No one can be you better than you, so embrace all your glittery magik.
Any new projects coming up that you are excited about?
As well as what I have talked about I am excited just to see how the seasons shift what I am doing and what rises up needing to be created.
What does shopping small mean to you?
Being kinder to the planet and positively impacting my community.
What’s your favourite small business? Why?
The Inner Magik
Poppy Joy Yoga
